About
the Award
The
Women’s Distinguished Service Award is
given to a dedicated NLGJA member
who, throughout her career, involvement with NLGJA,
and other activities, has demonstrated
a commitment to issues focusing on
women in journalism and whose service has improved both the organization
and the field of journalism.
General
Rules & Requirements
- Candidates
must be a current member of NLGJA.
- Candidates
may be nominated or self-nominated.
- Past recipients are ineligible.
- Please
ensure that the name of the candidate is spelled as it should
appear on certificates, in press releases, etc.
- Entries
may be accompanied with a résumé or curriculum
vitae.
- Judges
have the right to disqualify entries that do not conform
to the contest guidelines or that do not meet the deadline.
Entrants will not be notified of such disqualification.
- The
name of the winner may be posted on the NLGJA Web site.
Submitting a Nomination
E-mail your nomination to NLGJA Women's Task Force Chair Lauren Ober with a subject line of "NLGJA Women's Distinguished Service Award." Winners will be recognized at NLGJA's National Convention.
