Philadelphia Chapter

NLGJA Philadelphia was one of the NLGJA’s first chapters. Its first meeting, on Nov. 17, 1991, was coordinated by NLGJA founder Leroy F. Aarons and Philadelphia chapter founding member Larry Fish, and attended by about a dozen LGBTQ Philadelphia journalists.

The chapter continues to host events touching on current events, such as a panel discussion about how President Obama’s re-election in 2012 might affect LGBTQ rights legislation, an open forum on the impact of the Affordable Care Act on LGBTQ communities, and a public discussion about LGBTQ priorities beyond the issue of marriage.
