Double Discrimination: LGBT Immigrants in the U.S.
Immigrants are often in the shadows of American society. And while many LGBT immigrants must also conceal their sexual identities, others find living in the United States liberating compared with their home nations. And although many LGBT immigrants have found success and acceptance, others face double discrimination and immigration barriers to stay with their American partners.

Good Transitions: Writing the Whole Person into Your Story
Deadlines, schmedlines. When it comes to telling stories of people's lives, there's no excuse for getting it wrong. But how do you describe the queer world to editors who haven't left the office since the Pleistocene Era? And what about readers? Join transgendered writer/performer Scott Turner Schofield for a look at how to get it right without losing your mind (or your job).

  • Scott Turner Schofield, Writer, Performer & Activist

NOT-SO-SILENT AUCTION
6:45PM–8:45PM

You never know what you’ll find at NLGJA's Not-So-Silent Auction. Maybe that trip you've been talking about taking. Maybe a stay at that hotel you've been dying to try. Maybe a celebrity guest host like Bruce Vilanch to make sure the Not-So-Silent Auction gets downright loud. The money raised this evening goes to supporting NLGJA programs year-round, so don't miss your chance to have some fun, do some good and fill up that suitcase a little more.

CONVENTION NIGHTCAP
9:00PM–10:30PM

So take a minute to grab one more drink with your fellow NLGJA-ers before heading out for one more night in San Diego.
