Pack your bags! The 2007 National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association convention will be held at the Westin Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego in
“San Diego is a beautiful city. I love the Westin Horton Plaza. It’s all about the ‘heavenly body’ and it’s right next to a mall,” said Sam Snyder, NLGJA’s convention planner.
The convention’s theme is “Breaking Stories, Breaking Waves.” At least 700 members are expected to attend. The convention will be held on the West Coast next year following this year’s convention on the East Coast.
On the surveys that attendees fill out, they have the option to pick where they would like the convention to be. Cities across the country compete for the NLGJA convention. The competition narrows to three finalist cities. San Diego won the spot for 2007.
Members can expect another full lineup of events and sessions on hot topics.
“The program committee always changes the panels. We’ve never had the same panels and the same people,” said Snyder.
