NLGJA Student Central > Leroy F. Aarons Newsroom Internship

About NLGJA's Leroy F. Aarons Newsroom Internship

In partnership with The Oakland Tribune and the Bay Area News Group—East Bay (BANG-EB), NLGJA offers student members the opportunity to participate in a paid, 10-week internship at The Oakland Tribune.

Funded through a generous grant from The Chicago Tribune Foundation, the internship is named for NLGJA founder and former Oakland Tribune Executive Editor Leroy F. (Roy) Aarons (pictured right).

The position is open to NLGJA student members who are undergraduates, graduate students or recent graduates. Applicants should demonstrate an interest in a career in print and multimedia journalism and a commitment to NLGJA's mission of ensuring fair and accurate coverage of LGBT individuals and the issues that most affect them. Previous internship experience is preferred.
