NLGJADear NLGJA Members,

It's NLGJA election time, and we need your vote to decide who the next NLGJA president will be. The two candidates are Steve Pride, an NLGJA board member from the LA Chapter, and Michael Triplett, NLGJA vice president for print/new media from the Washington, DC Chapter.

The other contests are uncontested. There is one candidate for vice president for print/new media: Sarah Blazucki, an NLGJA board member from the Philadelphia Chapter. The two candidates for the elected board positions are Sharif Durhams, an NLGJA board member from the Chicago Chapter, and Laura Kutch, former NorCal Chapter president.

All NLGJA members are eligible to vote in national elections. Membership dues must be paid and membership must be current as of the day of voting. Voting will be done electronically and will last from July 2 until July 25 at 5 p.m. PT. To vote click here or login to the NLGJA members only site.

If you have questions regarding your eligibility, please contact the NLGJA office at info@nlgja.org or (202) 588-9888.

Starting this coming week, the two candidates for president will answer questions posted by members on NLGJA's Facebook page. Post your question to either or both of the candidates at https://www.facebook.com/nlgja. Statements, questions, comments and other communications may be posted by candidates and their supporters on any of NLGJA’s Facebook pages or groups.

According to NLGJA's bylaws, board elections are advisory. The board of directors legally retains the ability to name its members; to date, the board has never failed to follow the election results. The board will vote at its July 31 board meeting during the UNITY convention in Las Vegas.

Outgoing NLGJA National President David Steinberg is this year’s elections chair. Contact David at dsteinberg@nlgja.org if you have any questions or concerns about the election.
