The Mizzou chapter of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association works to create conversations about media diversity, ethics, and coverage.

Group members meet at 6 p.m. most Thursdays in Neff Hall 204. These meetings let group members relax in an informal atmosphere, work on homework, or brainstorm future events. The chapter also organizes larger events about media topics with journalists and other speakers each semester.

If you’re interested in being involved, feel free to send an email to info@outatmizzou.com or reach out to us on our social media platforms Facebook or Twitter.

The University of Missouri’s NLGJA chapter is co-advised by journalism professors Rita Reed, Reuben Stern, and Anna Romero. We hope you’ll reach out to learn more about our chapter and ways you can be involved. Until then, feel free to check out the NLGJA’s stylebook supplement for tips and insight on covering folks in the LGBTQ community.
