Atlantis Events Prepares to Celebrate 30th Anniversary Season With More Payment Options and Greater Flexibility

New partnership with Uplift gives our guests more flexible payment options
New “Play it Forward” change policy offers our guests peace of mind to book now

July 8, 2020West Hollywood, Calif. – Atlantis Events, the world’s largest all-gay vacations company, is excited to introduce new monthly payment options through a partnership with Uplift and new flexible change policies.  This news comes as Atlantis Events prepares to celebrate their 30th Anniversary with a season of new vacations for the LGBTQ+ community including their new Superstars cruise on Royal Caribbean International’s Allure of the Seas, January 17 – 24, 2021.

Quickly adapting to current market conditions and changing customer needs, Atlantis Events added additional flexibility to their payment options and cancellation policies.  Through a partnership with Uplift, the leading point-of-sale travel financing company, guests can book their vacation now and pay over time, rather than having to pay in-full up front or put down a large deposit.  In addition, Atlantis’ new “Play it Forward” policy allows guests to change a booking without penalty up to 60 days prior to departure if they cannot travel.

“We know our guests are excited to travel again after an extended period of staying home,” said Atlantis Events CEO Rich Campbell.  “We also know many people are trying to manage out-of-pocket expenses right now.  Allowing people to spread the cost of their vacation over low monthly payments and change their travel plans without penalty provides peace of mind so that they may book their travel worry-free. We want to get people back onboard as easily as possible.”

Starting July 8, 2020,  Uplift Pay Monthly will be available through the Atlantis Events Reservations Center by calling (310) 859-8800 and on later this summer.

“It was both wonderful to celebrate virtually and yet also a tad poignant to have to celebrate Pride virtually last month.  As we look forward to traveling together again, I’m so thrilled we can announce our Partnership with Atlantis Events,” said Uplift Vice President – Commercial Rob Borden.  “Rich Campbell and his team produce amazing vacations and I have personally enjoyed many Atlantis Events trips.  Uplift Pay Monthly is the ideal solution, allowing guests to book the trip they want so that we can all start traveling again when the time is right.”

New Out & About CBD Launches Line of Wellness Products Specifically for LGBT Community

FOR RELEASE:
April 2, 2020

New Out & About CBD Launches Line of Wellness Products Specifically for LGBT Community

Ambitious “Do Good, Do Well” Start-up, Led by Seasoned Team of Branding and Marketing Executives, Raises More Than $1.5mm in Angel Funding

San Juan Capistrano, Calif. – Few groups could benefit more from the non-addictive, natural wellness properties of CBD than the LGBT community where anxiety levels are as much as 2.5x higher than their heterosexual counterparts (Mental Health America). That’s the premise of a new Southern California start-up called Out & About CBD with the launch of its new line of CBD products this month.

Out & About CBD has raised more than $1.5 million from almost two dozen angel investors across the country who were attracted by the hyper-growth in the CBD market, a seasoned management team with a track record of success, and Out & About CBD’s differentiated “do good, do well” business model.

The company was founded by long-time brand marketing executive (P&G, Heinz, WPP) Ralph Fascitelli and Wayne Carkeek, a former retail manager at LA-based Alo Yoga. Both principals have links to the LGBT community. Carkeek, grew up in a small town in Montana, and came out shortly after a four-year stint in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Out & About CBD is committed to giving a minimum of 5% of all proceeds back to the LGBT community, a percentage it hopes will generate more than a million dollars in donations within three years. The company is a corporate partner of The Trevor Project the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ youth. As part of the company’s launch efforts, Out & About CBD will donate 15% of all sales during the month of April to The Trevor Project. According to long-time LGBT activist and former Board President of the LA Gay and Lesbian Center, Matt Skallerud: “the gay community is not yet fully up to date on the many benefits of CBD and a well-focused, community-conscious, and committed business like Out & About CBD can be very successful.”

The Out & About CBD product line-up will include several traditional CBD products including:

  • Both 10mg and 25mg gummies
  • An energy and sports recovery drink mix – a convenient alternative to CBD water
  • CBD massage oil with lavender
  • CBD dog chews formulated especially for small dogs, 25 pounds and under.

Out and About CBD will sell direct via its own, ecommerce site which will be aggressively promoted in LGBT media and via LGBT influencers and on social media. The company also intends to sell to a variety of retailers in leading LGBT neighborhoods as well as wellness outlets across the U.S.

The CBD market is predicted to grow into a $20 billion dollar category by the year 2022 according to a Brightfield Group study, and has enjoyed stamps of approval from both the World Health Organization, which declared hemp-based CBD to be “a safe product with health benefits,” and the U.S. Government which classified CBD as a legal product in the 2018 Farm Bill. Hemp-based CBD which is short for cannabidiol, comes from the same cannabis family as marijuana though hemp CBD contains less than 0.3% of THC, which is the addictive element in marijuana that gets one high. Out & About CBD’s hemp CBD products typically contain zero THC and are organic, vegan, U.S. farmed, and third-party tested.

CBD is at the center of the booming wellness, self-care industry due to its dual mind and body benefits. CBD can have a positive impact on our physiological functions by interacting with our endocannabinoid system (ECS) which is crucial for balancing a healthy stress response, mood and sleep/wake cycles.

The typical CBD user has above average education and higher income levels than the general population, and takes fewer prescription drugs. Growth in the industry has been grassroots driven, with reported efficacy levels over 80% according to CBD user surveys. Studies also indicate almost half of people who use CBD, use it daily.

Out & About CBD
Out & About CBD’s mission is to be the CBD market leader for the LGBT community, which it believes can represent 10% of all CBD sales in a few years. They aim to do this by assuming the role of thought leader in the space and by educating LGBT individuals about the latest research on this promising anti-inflammatory, non-addictive genre of natural products. The Company’s tagline is “Love Every Day,” which aligns with an intent to bring the mind-body balance benefits of hemp-based CBD to members of the LGBT community. Retailers in the wellness space and LGBT communities  should contact Out & About CBD’s Co-founder Wayne Carkeek at

VALENCIA, Calif., February 4, 2020 – Celebrated actor, author and LGBTQ activist George Takei headlined Cunard’s popular holiday voyage on the flagship liner Queen Mary 2 as part of the luxury cruise line’s renowned Insights program in December. Catch a personal glimpse of George Takei speaking on QM2 on our new video, and find out more about Cunard’s partnership with the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association. See Cunard profile.

South Africa, India and Colombia are Among the Countries Featured in IGLTA’s New LGBTQ+ Travel Guides
The free online resource helps travelers stay informed and safe during their trips

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (4 February 2020) — The International LGBTQ+ Travel Association has published a series of LGBTQ+ travel guides, expanding the online resources it offers LGBTQ+ travelers and the travel industry at large. The 26 country guides reflect IGLTA’s diverse global membership and include destinations with progressive LGBTQ+ legislation and protections such as Iceland and the Netherlands as well as destinations where LGBTQ+ acceptance is not as widespread.

For all its rewards, travel presents additional challenges for the LGBTQ+ community given the wide variations in acceptance and laws around the globe. More than 70 countries have anti-LGBTQ+ laws so it’s particularly important for LGBTQ+ travelers—and the travel advisors who are assisting them—to be properly informed and do additional research when planning a trip. The IGLTA guides combine information on when to visit and destination highlights with LGBTQ+ safety considerations and travel tips.

“Since its founding in 1983, IGLTA has been a resource for travelers looking to find LGBTQ+ welcoming businesses around the world,” said IGLTA President/CEO John Tanzella. “We’ve now taken it a step further by working with our LGBTQ+ media members to create guides that will help LGBTQ+ travelers to ensure their travel experiences are not only enjoyable but also LGBTQ+ welcoming and safe.”

Additional guides will be added throughout the year. For more information, email or go to

IGLTA Announces Atlanta as the Host City for its 2021 Global Convention
The renowned Georgia Aquarium will welcome delegates on opening night

ATLANTA (3 December 2020)—The International LGBTQ+ Travel Association has selected Atlanta, Georgia’s capital and an LGBTQ+ oasis in the southern United States, as the host city for its 38th Annual Global Convention, 5-8 May 2021. This will be the first time the city has hosted IGLTA’s premier educational and networking event.

The opening night reception, sponsored by Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau, will be held at Georgia Aquarium, the largest aquarium in the United States and the only marine institution outside of Asia to house whale sharks. The aquarium, a longtime IGLTA member, has presented the kickoff party for Atlanta Pride for the past 10 years. Voyage, the annual IGLTA Foundation fundraiser held during the convention, will take place under the wings of a 747 in Delta Flight Museum, courtesy of Delta Air Lines.

“On behalf of Atlanta’s entire hospitality community, we are thrilled to host the 2021 IGLTA Global Convention and welcome attendees from across the world,” said William Pate, President and CEO, Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Atlanta is a progressive and inclusive city and hosting this international event will allow us to showcase what makes it a fantastic destination for LGBTQ+ travelers.”

Atlanta is home to the largest LGBTQ+ Pride event in the Southeastern U.S., as well as numerous other well-attended LGBTQ+ events, such as Out on Film, Black Gay Pride and the Atlanta Queer Literary Festival. The city has a large gayborhood in its Midtown neighborhood.

“Atlanta delivers a blend of Southern hospitality and urban sophistication that sets the stage for a successful, welcoming conference,” says IGLTA Board Chair Jon Muñoz. “Our global delegates that have not yet experienced Atlanta’s vibrant LGBTQ+ community are in for a treat, and the venues the city has selected to showcase are truly world class.”

IGLTA’s board of directors determines each year’s host city through an extensive bidding process that considers the association’s diverse membership as well as the destination’s support for LGBTQ+ tourism and its desire to grow that presence. Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau has been an IGLTA Global Partner since 2013, and Delta Air Lines, headquartered in Atlanta, has been an IGLTA Global Partner since 2006.

Out Adventures Launches Their First Tours Specifically For Lesbians

Luxury, small group, lesbian travel experiences to Peru, Croatia and Iceland offered in 2020

Toronto, Canada (October 10, 2019) – The world’s leading provider of outdoorsy and luxurious small-group excursions for gay men and lesbians is launching a trio of lesbian tours for their 2020 season. These are the first tours the company has offered specifically for women, and were created to fill a gap in the offerings for lesbian travelers. Croatia (July, 2020), Peru (August, 2020), and Iceland (August, 2020) are the first trips, with more destinations to come in 2021.

“There are only a few companies creating tours specifically for lesbians and bisexual women,” said Iris Serbanescu, a travel industry veteran who will also be hosting the company’s Croatia trip. “But none of them have put as much effort as Out Adventures to craft a female-first experience, from the moment you look online and book your trip, to when your trip ends and you board your flight home. All the details are well-thought out to ensure they resonate with this market.”

Before launching their lesbian tours, Out Adventures worked with a lesbian travel researcher and lesbian travel experts to identify what exactly travelers are looking for from a small group experience. In the end, most lesbian travelers want many of the traditional travel experiences – such as staying at fabulous hotels and visiting the Amazon and Machu Picchu – but with additional opportunities to support local women-owned and operated businesses, to have female guides, and to meet local lesbians when possible.

With these insights in mind, Out Adventures built out the itineraries based on their decade of success offering tours in these destinations, but adding a holistic, female-first perspective. To that end, all tours are hosted by a lesbian Out Adventures Brand Ambassador and all local guides are women. The Croatian trip will take place on a small, luxury, female-owned and operated yacht. In Peru, participants will eat at a restaurant owned by a female, Michelin-starred chef, and meet the lesbian owners of a cupcake shop in Lima. In Iceland, local lesbians will host a house-party to introduce attendees to Reykjavik’s women’s community.

“We’re so thrilled to finally offer these tours,” said Robert Sharp, founder of Out Adventures. “When we launched our company a decade ago, we had planned on having fully mixed groups of men and women, but we quickly learned that gay men generally prefer to travel with other gay men and lesbians with lesbians. We’ve been fortunate to have success and learn so much with our tours for gay men, but I felt very strongly that we needed to be more inclusive and offer trips specifically for women. I’m so thankful we built such a great team to develop these tours and can’t wait to welcome women to our first lesbian tours in 2020.”

To celebrate the launch, Out Adventures just released an episode of their history-making Gay Travel Podcast about their new lesbian travel experiences.

For more information, please contact Tanya Churchmuch at or call 347.701.2515.

Airbnb Host Launches LGBT+Ally Travel Platform Recognizes Safe, Welcoming Spaces from Airbnb, Vrbo, and HomeAway

TAMPA, Fla. – A former Airbnb Superhost aims to remove the ‘coming out’ conundrum for LGBT+ travelers when booking accommodations through the 10+ million listings across major short-term rental platforms including Airbnb, Vrbo,, TripAdvisor, and HomeAway. brings an end to travelers having to message hosts ensuring they are ‘OK’ with hosting a gay couple or member of the transgender community. The platform’s FabHosts are recognized LGBT+Ally hosts fostering welcoming safe spaces for all.

“Travel is about fun and exploration, coming out to stranger is no way to kick-off a vacation,” says Robert Geller, Founder and CEO of FabStayz and himself an Airbnb Host. “Be your FabSelf wherever your travels take you. No more scouring listings for clues if the host is LGBT+ welcoming, an ally or member of our community. FabStayz wants to take away all the guesswork for the LGBT+ traveler.”

Geller shared that property owners listed on FabStayz will be some of the most experienced hosts who must meet the platform’s strict criteria of seven months minimum hosting on another major platform with at least 10 great to excellent reviews. Geller points out this criteria brings added security as hosts cannot join FabStayz without prior hosting experience. Additionally, all FabStayz hosts much agree to FabStayz diversity and inclusion statement.

“Our featured FabHosts are super at hosting,” exclaims Geller, playing on Airbnb’s ‘Superhost’ badges. “To date, 96 percent of featured FabHosts are allies wanting to be recognized as welcoming to the LGBT+ community. And, they’ve done so by purchasing yearly subscriptions to be featured on”

When developing FabStayz, Geller and his team also wanted to make it easy for hosts to join the site. Unique to FabStayz is that hosts do not have to create a new listing from scratch. Instead, their listing is uploaded from other major short-term rental platforms. This feature allows LGBT+Ally property owners to be listed on the site in a matter of minutes.

FabStayz beta v1.0 went live with just weeks ago with its Fab100 Hosts, the first 100 to join the platform and now has over 500 listings. Featured listings include such unique properties as tiny homes in Portland, Oregon, a castle in France, a vintage RV on a hillside in Los Angeles, a restored firehouse in Chattanooga, TN, home shares, beach front condos, and guest suites throughout the United States, Brazil, Canada, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, Poland, and United Kingdom.

Additionally, a FabOffer during the site’s launch gives hosts the opportunity to experience the benefits of the FabStayz platform. LGBT+Ally Hosts with listings on Airbnb, Vrbo, HomeAway, Booking or TripAdvisor can get a six-month free trial subscription to be recognized on

Representing every letter of the acronym LGBT+, Geller’s diverse FabStayz team has their sights set on Airbnb’s 7M active listings in over 100,000 cities looking to gain a 3 percent foothold within its first 18 months, making it the largest LGBT+ accommodations platform.

About FabStayz brings together LGBT+ travelers and exceptional LGBT+ Ally Hosts from vacation rental sites like Airbnb, Vrbo,, TripAdvisor, and HomeAway. Featured FabHosts are allies supporting the FabStayz platform. They are eager to welcome members of the LGBT+ community and host their stay in a new destination.
