Attend Our Convention for Free with an AARP Freelance Fellowship!

Thanks to the generosity of our partners at AARP, we are offering complimentary virtual convention registrations to 10 interested freelance journalists. You can apply here!

The AARP Freelance Fellowship covers registration fees for up to 10 freelance journalists to attend the virtual portion of our 2022 NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists National Convention, September 8-11. Fellows do not need to be a member of NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists to apply. AARP Freelance Fellows are required to attend a one-hour virtual workshop presented by AARP.

The deadline to apply for the AARP Freelance Fellowship is noon ET on August 15. Selected individuals will be contacted after the deadline with additional information. The application can be found here.

NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists is pleased to announce that registration for our 2022 National Convention is now open! The convention will be held September 8-11 at the Drake in Chicago. The event will be our first in-person gathering since 2019 and we cannot wait to be together again. Join us in Chicago to reconnect with old friends and make connections with new colleagues.
