Join fellow LGBT journalists in the host city of this year's national convention for our monthly social hour at Club Cafe. Share ideas for chapter events and convention activities, or just relax after a long day at work!
Boston Chapter
Formed in 1992, the Boston Chapter (formerly known as the New England Chapter) includes members in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont and even some members in Canada. Following in the region's tradition of being a focal point of the nation's political issues, the Boston Chapter has a rich history of holding candidate forums, panel discussions and throwing great parties.
While most of its membership lives in Boston, we are always looking for satellite representatives to keep us connected to our members outside of the metro area.
This month, we're hitting Dot Ave! Join us at dBar for high-brow conversation and lowdown gossip in the Boston Globe's backyard. No pay, but you'll get plenty of exposure.
Join us for a cocktail or 12 to tell everyone how you spent the holidays and what you hope to see in the new year. We'll also be discussing the upcoming NLGJA annual convention right here in Boston and looking for more ideas for events, partnerships, topics, and whatever else you'd like to see happening in conjunction with the convention. So don't miss it.
Join fellow NLGJA members and guests for holiday cheer from 7 to 10 p.m. at
Club Cafe
209 Columbus Ave
Boston
Look for our sign in the bar area. Come to gossip, share stories of terrible holiday season work assignments, and sing (if you want to) in the Napoleon Room.
The panel discussion and social hour, open to all, is at 7 p.m. on November 14 in Room 209 at Boston University's College of Communication. In our first campus event of the season, NLGJA Boston presents a lively discussion of the 2012 election, including the presidential race, the outcome of marriage equality referenda, and the showings of LGBT candidates from Democrat Tammy Baldwin to Republican Richard Tisei. Panelists will include Keen News Service's Lisa Keen, Brandeis University's E.J. Graff, the Boston Globe's Dante Ramos, and Chuck Colbert of the Rainbow Times and other publications. Jeremy Fox, vice president of NLGJA Boston and a reporter for the Boston Globe, will moderate. The free event will also be a welcome to new members of the chapter and is open to all who want to learn more about the NLGJA. For more info, contract robertdavidsullivan@yahoo.com.
