Got an idea for a session? Are you an expert on a topic you wish to share? Perhaps there's a topic or issue you want to learn more about.

Planning has begun for the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association's National Convention and LGBT Media Summit. The convention will be held at the Boston Park Plaza, August 22-25, 2013. NLGJA requests presentation proposals for the development of the educational portion of the conference.

This year we plan to provide over 30 workshop opportunities to over 350 conference attendees. Proposals from members are an integral step in the process the conference planning committee and NLGJA staff take to provide the most up-to-date and relevant workshops to all of our conference attendees.

If you are interested in the possibility of presenting during the conference, fill out the Panel Proposal Form by the close of business February 28, 2013.

We are also accepting offers of expertise from individuals interested in presenting, but have no full panel proposal. Fill out the General Panelists Contact Form by the close of business February 28, 2013.

Please note that submission of a proposal does not guarantee a workshop presentation opportunity at the conference or a seat on a panel.  The conference planning committee and the NLGJA staff will collect all of the proposals submitted and review them based on:

  • Overall content and its relevance to NLGJA members
  • Proposed learning objectives

You will be contacted by March 31, 2013 as to whether your proposal is one of the selected programs. If you have any questions, please contact Bach Polakowski at 202-588-9888.
