Programs and Resources
What We Offer
At NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists, our work centers on three core pillars: professional development, community and support, and industry accountability. Through our programs and services, we empower LGBTQ+ journalists and communicators to grow in their careers, build meaningful connections, and strengthen coverage of our communities.
From trainings, fellowships, and networking opportunities to national events and local chapter gatherings, NLGJA provides the tools and networks needed to thrive. We also work directly with newsrooms to improve fair and accurate reporting through initiatives like our Stylebook on LGBTQ+ Terminology, Rapid Response Task Force and Newsroom Outreach Program.
Together, these efforts advance both the profession and the representation of LGBTQ+ people in media.
