NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists and the Gannett Foundation are partnering this year for a special opportunity to NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists members.
The Gannett Foundation will present The Al Neuharth Award for Innovation in Investigative Journalism to the person or team who best uses innovative approaches for investigative reporting. Selection is based on the quality and creativity of the work submitted.
Award Prize: Cash prize to be awarded at the NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists National Convention. The winner does not have to be present at the ceremony to receive the award.
Deadline: The 2021 entry deadline is noon E.T on February 11.
Eligibility: You must be a current NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists member to qualify. If you are not a member and would like to submit an entry, simply join NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists here and submit your entry.
Entries must be in the English language and published or aired in 2020.
Any digital medium is accepted, including online, on-air, photography and video entries. The entry may consist of a single piece or a series on a single topic.

Please note: For team submissions, you must provide a primary contact as the entrant. This person must have played a lead or key role in the submitted work.
The winner will be notified in Summer 2021.
