The National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA) is hosting its student journalism project, Connect, at the 2014 LGBT Media Summit & Convention on August 17-24, in Chicago.
Each year, NLGJA chooses students from across the country to participate in its student journalism project — providing real-world experience to undergraduate and graduate students who are considering a career in journalism. To apply, students fill out an application, attaching the requested items, and submit them to NLGJA by Monday, June 9th.
If chosen, NLGJA will pay for the selected students' convention attendance, airfare, food and hotel at the convention site.
Program Eligibility & Application Details
Students participating in the project will work with media professionals to report, edit, photograph, design and produce the news of NLGJA's National Convention and the host city, while helping to ensure fair and accurate coverage of LGBT issues at the event.
Applicants do not need to be a member of NLGJA or a member of the LGBT community to apply. NLGJA accepts applicants from all mediums and university departments and majors.
