UNITY: Journalists for Diversity is accepting applications for the UNITY student reporting fellowship. This is a rare opportunity for college students to develop immersive multimedia and reporting skills from all over the country.

NLGJA is pleased to announce that it has received a grant renewable for up to five years from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to deliver journalism training that will enhance strategies and skills in covering HIV/AIDS.

Last Thursday, NLGJA presented Jeffrey Toobin, a senior legal analyst for CNN and staff writer at The New Yorker, with the Randy Shilts Award for LGBT Coverage at its annual Dateline:DC event. The NLGJA Randy Shilts Award annually honors a journalist who or organization which consistently brings stories of the LGBT community to life in mainstream media. We’d like to thank him for his work going the extra mile to ensure that all Americans are aware of the unique struggles LGBT people face.
