For Editors and Organizations
Accessing the NLGJA Freelancer Directory is simple. Just fill out a short request form, and once approved, you’ll receive access to search and connect with NLGJA members available for freelance work.
Our Vetting Process
To protect our members, NLGJA screens all organizations requesting access. The review process is straightforward — we verify that you represent a legitimate news or media outlet and confirm that your request is professional in nature. This helps ensure members’ information is shared only with credible organizations.
This directory is intended to be used for the sole purpose of hiring freelance contractors for journalistic assignments. Those found using the directory for other purposes will have their access removed. All directory users must adhere to NLGJA’s Code of Conduct.
Important Context
While many of our members are LGBTQ+, not all are. The Freelancer Directory is a benefit open to all NLGJA members. We do our best to make clear when a freelancer identifies as LGBTQ+ to ensure transparency.
NLGJA’s role is to connect freelancers with organizations. We do not facilitate or monitor contracts, rates or payments. Those details are strictly between you and the freelancer.
We’re excited to amplify our members’ work and help you connect with the right talent!
